What you should know about Emily Austin Designs

I am a designer living in Scottsdale, AZ. All of my work is done locally in my studio by me and my staff. I have worked exclusively with Swarovski Austrian Crystals for more than 10 years. SWAROVSKI is pronounced (SWAR-OFF-SKI). That's a tough one! Swarovski crystals are the best in the world and made in Austria. The company is over 100 years old. The flat back crystals I use have 12 facets on each crystal. That's a lot of bling!

I work with more than 60 colors of crystals. The majority of designs using chain in my designs can be made in most of these colors. I use a variety of freshwater and Swarovski glass pearls, semi precious stones and findings from around the world in my designs.

I offer designs using the "knotted" Swarovski crystals in a limited number of colors usually based on the most popular colors of the season. (Please call or write for a list of available colors and sizes.) I use 4mm, 6mm and 8mm crystals. Special colors may be ordered at an additional charge. The knotted crystals are knotted with a very strong synthetic string which is dyed in a neutral tone to blend in with your skin and to better show off the crystals.

You may order necklaces in your desired length. There may be an additional charge if the chain exceeds 3 - 4" (depending on the chain) past the 16" standard length. If you purchase a necklace and then decide later to have it lengthened, there will be a charge for a new chain. It is best to special order it exactly how you want it to avoid additional charges.

In my silver designs, all of my chain and findings are sterling silver, then flashed with fine silver and anti tarnished to prolong the oxidation factor. Care instructions are on my jewelry tags. I also offer gold fill jewelry. "Gold fill" is 14 kt. gold with other metals pressed inside NOT PLATED. It never peels or flakes off. The other findings are plated with 14kt. over sterling. There is an up charge for gold fill in most of my designs.

I stand behind my work. I have worked closely with chemists to find the best and most durable variety of adhesives. Still, occasionally crystals may fall off which will be replaced most of the time at no charge with the exception of shipping/insurance. Watches that stop ticking can be easily fixed by replacing the battery which I am happy to replace for one year. Otherwise they can be found in any local drugstore. I can replace the battery or your local jeweler can do it usually at no charge if you have the battery.
